1. Scope And Service Provider
This Privacy Policy applies to the WritelyAI macOS / iOS app, this website, and related online services. The service provider is Beijing Huangyuan Youmin Technology Co., Ltd. / Wild Nomads.
If you use WritelyAI through Apple sign-in, email sign-in, or a third-party sign-in method that may be supported later, those platforms may also process the login or payment information needed for their services under their own privacy policies.

3. Account Email And Sign-In
When you register, sign in, reset a password, verify email, use Apple sign-in, restore purchases, or use cloud sync, we process account email, account identifiers, authentication tokens, and necessary account status. We use this information to create and protect accounts, sync projects, recognize membership entitlements, send password reset or email verification messages, and provide customer support.
If you use Apple sign-in, Apple may provide us with your real email address or a private relay email address. We do not ask for identity information that is unrelated to the service.
4. App Store Privacy Label Alignment
In App Store Connect, WritelyAI's "Data Linked to You" privacy labels include Usage Data, Identifiers, Purchases, Contact Info, Diagnostics, and User Content. More specifically, those categories correspond to Product Interaction, User ID, Purchase History, Email Address, Other Diagnostic Data, and Other User Content.
This data may be linked to your account or device state so that we can provide sign-in, cloud sync, AI processing, subscription entitlements, purchase restore, feedback support, error troubleshooting, and security maintenance. We do not use this data for third-party advertising tracking, and we do not sell this data.
5. Writing Content And Cloud Sync
WritelyAI uses project content, preferences, chat state, and timeline snapshots for your writing workflow. Some data may be stored locally on your device. When you sign in and use cloud sync, cross-device restore, server AI, or related online features, project data and writing content may be transmitted to our servers for storage or processing.
Writing content includes manuscript text, chapters, titles, outlines, settings, reference material, selected text, text around the cursor, chat messages, AI previews, and imported text. Please do not submit content you are not authorized to process, account passwords, payment card numbers, or other highly sensitive information to WritelyAI.
6. AI Processing
When you use generation, continuation, polishing, summarization, rewriting, structure organization, semantic autocomplete, or normal AI chat, WritelyAI may send your request, chat context, pinned materials, selected text, or manuscript fragments related to the current writing target to model services in order to generate replies or editing suggestions.
AI requests are used only to complete writing tasks you initiate, improve context understanding, troubleshoot AI output issues, or maintain service quality. We do not use your writing content for third-party advertising tracking. Model, cloud, sign-in, payment, or support service providers process data only as needed to provide their respective features.
7. Subscriptions, Membership, And App Store IAP
WritelyAI may offer free quota, membership subscriptions, and traffic packs as digital services. Purchases are completed through Apple App Store / In-App Purchase. Apple processes your payment method, billing, and refund flow. We do not access or store your payment card number.
To activate entitlements, validate transactions, prevent duplicate grants, restore purchases, and handle support requests, we process the product ID, transaction ID, receipt or signed transaction information, subscription status, plan, quota, and related server validation results returned by Apple. Deleting your WritelyAI account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. You still need to manage cancellation through your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. Voice Input Permissions
WritelyAI requests microphone and speech recognition permissions only when you actively start voice writing, voice input, or a related feature. The microphone is used to turn your speech into writing instructions or draft input. Speech recognition is used to convert speech into text for writing, summarizing, or editing actions you initiate.
WritelyAI does not continuously listen in the background. You can turn off microphone or speech recognition permissions in system settings at any time. If you turn them off, voice input features may not work.
9. Usage Data, Diagnostics, Feedback, And Support Data
To keep the service available, sync state accurate, membership quota correct, and AI requests diagnosable, we may record necessary product interaction data such as sign-in, sync, AI requests, purchase restore, quota consumption, feature entry points, error states, and service response state.
When you submit bug reports, feature suggestions, or AI result feedback, feedback is submitted to our backend feedback endpoint first. If the endpoint is unavailable, the app may open an email draft. Feedback may include the feedback text you enter, optional contact email, language, creation time, and diagnostic information you choose to include.
Diagnostic information may include runtime environment, platform, User-Agent, user ID, account email, plan, and guest status. It is used to troubleshoot sign-in, sync, subscriptions, AI output, or compatibility issues. Please do not include account credentials, full sensitive manuscripts, or unauthorized material in feedback.
10. Data Retention And Deletion
You can delete local data on your device. Cloud projects, account email, subscription entitlement records, feedback, and diagnostic records are retained only for as long as needed to provide the service, handle support requests, maintain security, prevent fraud, keep transaction records, or meet legal compliance requirements.
You may stop syncing, sign out, delete local projects, or initiate deletion of your account and related cloud data from the account settings inside the app. You may also contact us through the email addresses below if you need help with a deletion request. We will process deletion requests after verifying the relationship between the requester and the account.
Deleting your WritelyAI account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. Subscription cancellation and refunds are managed through your Apple ID subscription settings. Data that must be retained for transactions, invoices, fraud prevention, security audit, or legal requirements may be retained within the necessary scope.
11. Third-Party Services
To provide WritelyAI features, we may use third-party services such as Apple App Store / In-App Purchase, Apple sign-in, model services, cloud servers, email delivery, feedback endpoints, or support email. These third-party services process necessary data under their own policies.
We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information.
12. Children's Privacy
WritelyAI is intended for general writing users and is not directed primarily to children. If you are a minor, please use the app with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian. If a guardian believes that a minor has provided personal information to us, the guardian may contact us using the email address below to request deletion.
13. Policy Changes
We may update this policy because of feature changes, service provider changes, legal requirements, or App Store review requirements. Material changes will be communicated through this page or an appropriate in-app notice. Continuing to use WritelyAI means you understand the updated policy.
14. Contact Us And Data Deletion Requests
If you have privacy questions or requests related to account deletion, cloud data deletion, subscription entitlements, or feedback data, you can use the in-app account deletion entry or contact us by email. To protect account security, please send email requests from your account email address or provide enough information for us to verify account ownership. Do not send passwords or payment card numbers.
